I’m Ian, Co-Founder of SubQuery. As we mark the one-year anniversary of SubQuery Network’s mainnet launch, I want to address our community openly during this challenging market period. Despite external headwinds and recent events impacting our token price, our team remains fully committed to delivering long-term value. Today, I’d like to share our vision, progress, and how we’re empowering key stakeholders—especially our Node Operator community.
SubQuery’s Value Proposition
SubQuery is a decentralised data indexing platform serving Web3 builders across
ecosystems like Ethereum, Polkadot, Cosmos, Starknet, Stellar (and 250+ more). Since our mainnet launch in February 2024, we’ve focused on solving critical infrastructure hurdles, including the introduction of decentralised RPC (dRPC) to complement our core offerings.
While expanding the SubQuery Network, we’ve continued advancing our SubQuery
SDK—the foundation of our ecosystem—with upgrades like Solana support, multichain
indexing enhancements, and AI-driven data solutions. We believe that adoption of the SDK directly benefits the Network and Node Operators, creating a virtuous cycle.
Accelerating Growth: The Consumer Rewards Program
To drive adoption, we’re launching a Consumer Rewards Program designed to incentivise
projects to deploy on SubQuery Network and pay query fees in SQT. This will be our largest ever SQT rewards program in SubQuery history so far.
Here’s how it works:
- Rewards Structure: Consumers earn up to 900% of their query spending in SQT rewards, distributed over 12 months.
- Total Rewards Pool: 60M SQT, for both Subgraph and SubQuery Project deployments (separated rewards pools).
- Market Advantage: Current token prices lower deployment costs, while Boost Rewards further subsidise query expenses—making SubQuery Network a highly attractive option.
Why This Benefits Node Operators:
- Rewards are tied to actual SQT spending (paid to Node Operators), not speculation.
- Participants must buy and hold SQT to qualify, mitigating sell pressure.
We need your help to spread the word and onboard more users!
Community-Led Governance
We’re doubling down on decentralised decision-making, with Node Operators at the
forefront. Recent examples like the SPP-2 Proposal (community-initiated and
team-supported) demonstrated this shift. Your feedback will shape our roadmap—stay
tuned for more opportunities to collaborate.
Our Belief
SubQuery Network bridges two groups: Builders (who dream) and Infra Providers (who
enable those dreams). We recognise that operating nodes profitably remains challenging,
especially for smaller participants. While professional providers leverage scale, we’re
actively exploring solutions to improve cost efficiency and yield sustainability for all.
