RPC Pricing Adjustment

Hello Node Operators!

As you may know, the SubQuery Foundation has been supporting and funding RPC requests, providing free RPC access to the public. However, SubQuery Foundation has recently observed a significant increase in spending, prompting us to review the RPC pricing structure.
The upcoming changes to RPC pricing will apply specifically to all RPC endpoints. Other networks may be subject to adjustments in the future.

Current Pricing Adjustment: The maximum accepted price for RPC requests from our gateway is currently set at 5 SQT per 1,000 requests, which is nearly ten times higher than the market benchmark. We intend to decrease this slowly, with a reduction in the maximum price by 50% to start from Tuesday 19th November, setting the new maximum accepted price at 2.5 SQT per 1,000 requests. You can change your flex plan pricing by following the guide here: Creating Plans and Making Requests | SubQuery Documentation

Please note, if your Flex plan price for RPC requests is >2.5SQT per 1,000 requests, you may get no queries from our gateway, and therefore no query rewards from Tuesday 19th November. This may significantly impact your profitability.

The current market price for RPC queries on the wholesale market is around 0.5 SQT per 1,000 requests, this might give you an indication of what other providers might be competing with on the network.

Also note that the price is a significant contributor to how many requests our gateway routes to you, so ensure that you are competitive to your peers. You can see the current Flex plan pricing for other Node Operators in the explorer page under each project SubQuery Network - The universal web3 data indexing toolkit

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we implement these changes. Please take the time to review and adjust your RPC pricing accordingly.

Hello Node Operators!

We would like to inform you of an upcoming adjustment to our pricing for RPC requests. Effective Wednesday, 27th November 2024, the maximum accepted price will be set at 1.5 SQT per 1,000 requests.

This adjustment reflects our commitment to gradually align our pricing structure with current market benchmarks, which are approximately 0.5 SQT per 1,000 requests in the wholesale market.

Thank you for your understanding. Cheers!

The question is will the SQT price increase? haha!
